I think this combination with the billet secondary tensioners and upgraded guide pins will give them the best chance to dial in the timing and get the best results out of my cam combo safely.Ĭlick to expand.Michael's stuff is not cheap in price but it is very likely the best you can find. The shop I'm using builds all the Mod motors for the local Mustang performance shops and echoed your sentiment. It appears the most recent Comp gear has recessed the hex fasteners and moved them inboard slightly in response to the interference issues with the cam position sensor some reported in previous iterations. I'm just trying to dot my I's and cross my T's on this build. I'll have the Comp gears in hand tomorrow so a gear in hand is worth two in the. Thanks Ed, sad the ol' 4V mod platform is getting pushed out of the market. My Name is Kevin, at least one user has found me on one of the other forums under a different name so I might as well introduce my self as to make it easier. Guess I'll be one of the first ones running them, fingers crossed but confident in L&M. Got lucky with the production timing, holding back the build slightly but looks like they will arrive tomorrow. The L&M setup is definitely not cheap, but I'm willing to pay to someone supporting the needs of the community. In the get to them bucket when you go to the comp site and navigate to that product you get a fatal error message which might be coincidental or perhaps not.Ĭlick to expand. Thanks Ed, sad the ol' 4V mod platform is getting pushed out of the market. If you have access to Comp equivalents I would get them as quickly as possible before Ford gets to them. I was going to direct you to the page on Summit with the Cloyes gears but when I went over there to find them, it appears they are no longer available! Ford has apparently strong armed Summit into pulling the product from their shelves for Coyote blessings. Michael at L&M was brave enough to roll the dice on manufacturing the adjustable 9-Way secondaries, those adjustable Comp primaries will complement them nicely. Once you have them Cam Phasing Workbook will work equally well with them. If you can get the Comp units and they are adjustable and they seem to be well thought out grab them before they disappear. The actual manufacturer of the timing gear is not as significant (unless the component is poorly designed) as actually getting the gear.
